Movement for the mind Techniques & Assessments
What is Movement for the Mind?
Movement for the mind uses specific and intentional movements with rhythmic breathing to balance the brain and body.
What is a session like?
The practitioner observes the client perform various movements (i.e. walking, tossing/ kicking a ball, balancing on one foot, etc...). Keeping in mind that some clients may have physical limitations, modifications will be made.
Based on the practitioner’s observations and the client's goals, the practitioner will teach the client various movements/exercises that will activate specific areas of the brain to help achieve the desired outcome.
Each session will differ and introduce a multitude of movements that clients are able to incorporate into their daily routines for optimal and ongoing success.
Benefit
The benefit to movement for the mind is overall balance to mind and body. When the body is not balanced the brain is not balanced, leading to issues with attention, learning, self-calming, impulse control, etc... By balancing the body, we balance the brain, helping to reduce anxiety & stress, while increasing focus and the ability to learn.
